Your holiday without worries

Start of the winter season on December 13th, 2021

Dear guests, the following information & guidelines are based on the official requirements of the WKO and the Ministry of Tourism.

ENTRY REGULATIONS IN AUSTRIA

Starting from Monday 20 December, entry to Austria for all people from 16 years old is scheduled according to the 2G + rule (vaccinated or cured) plus a PCR test valid for 72 hours. If you are vaccinated with the third dose, PCR testing is not required.
If you cannot provide the PCR Test, you need to register using the pre-travel clearance form (https://entry.ptc.gv.at/en) and to have a test carried out promptly or at least within 24 hours of entering Austria.

๐Ÿ‘‰  When you need a PCR test

๐Ÿ‘‰  Please find several scenarios below:

2x vaccinated (or 1x vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson): PCR test mandatory*
3x vaccinated (or 1x vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson plus Booster): no PCR test needed
Recovered: PCR test mandatory
Recovered, then 1x vaccinated: PCR test mandatory
Recovered, then 2x vaccinated: no PCR test needed
Recovered, vaccinated, recovered: no PCR test needed
1x vaccinated, then recovered: PCR test necessary
2x vaccinated (or 1x with Johnson & Johnson), then recovered: no PCR test needed*) The first dose of Johnson & Johnson is currently still valid to enter Austria. However, during your stay you need a booster jab to gain 2-G status

๐Ÿ‘‰  Current Covid Measures in Austria

The "2-G" rule (proof of full vaccination/past infection) is in effect again in Austria, as well as FFP2 mask requirements in many areas.

According to the 2G rule, in order to be able to attend places like hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, leisure centres, gyms, cinemas, theatres, Christmas markets, ski lifts/cable cars, hairdressers, proof of vaccination or recovery is required.

Only BioNtech/Pfizer, AstraZeneca (or Covishield), Johnson & Johnson and Moderna are recognised as valid vaccines.

2-dose-vaccinations are valid for 9 months only after the second dose (starting from 01.02.22 validity of the second dose is reduced to 6 months).
In case of vaccination by Johnson & Johnson, you need a booster to access the country.

๐Ÿ‘‰  Proof of full vaccination OR past COVID-19 infection (2G Rule) is required for:

visiting a restaurant
checking in at any type of accommodation (e.g. hotel, chalet, holiday apartment, etc.); and additionally when using services such as the restaurant at a hotel
services that require close proximity to others (e.g. hairdresser/barber, make-up, massages)
indoor and outdoor events (e.g. theatre, concerts, football stadium)
leisure and sport facilities (e.g. spas, indoor and outdoor pools, gyms)
cable cars

๐Ÿ‘‰  Children below the age of 12 do not need to show an entry test.
For children aged 12-15 (who were born starting from 01.09.2006), a PCR-Test no older than 72 hours is mandatory as entry test if they are not vaccinated or recovered. This test has to be repeated every 72 hours: please consider that PCR-Tests results may take to 24 hours to be shown.
In case children 12-15 years old are vaccinated or recovered, they do not need any test to enter Austria.

๐Ÿ‘‰  FP2 masks are required in all public areas in enclosed spaces.
In all types of accommodation, FFP2 masks are mandatory in public enclosed spaces, therefore, while staying in hotel, you have always to wear an FFP2 (not in the wellness area). Mask is not required when you are seated at your table.

FFP2 masks are mandatory on public transport, in cable cars, and in all shops and museums. This states for recovered and vaccinated people as well.
